GILBERT, Ariz. – The 2017 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game roster was announced on Wednesday with 50 student-athletes selected as either participants or alternates for the contest held on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. (Eastern) at the University of Louisville. Temple field hockey's Rachael Mueller
was one of the 38 selected as a participant, and is the 12th selection from Temple in the past 11 years.
Mueller is the Owls' leading scorer this season with six goals and 16 total points. She has scored the game-winning goal for Temple twice, including in a 3-2 overtime win vs. Sacred Heart. Mueller recorded two goals in Temple's 3-1 win at Holy Cross. She was a 2017 Preseason All-BIG EAST selection, and was named to the 2016 BIG EAST Second Team.
The participant group for the Senior Game includes Virginia's Tara Vittese (sister of former TUFH director of operations Carissa Vittese), who was last season's Longstreth/NFHCA Division I National Player of the Year. Five other student-athletes from the BIG EAST were selected in addition to Mueller, including two from #1 UConn.
The Senior Game contest will be played following the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Tournament, which takes place on Nov. 17 at 2 and 4:45 p.m. at Louisville. The NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship will be held on Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
