PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's soccer team (6-10-2, 2-6-1) was defeated 3-2 in their last regular season match to UConn (7-8-3, 5-4-0). The contest went back and forth throughout as there were two ties and two different lead changes and it came down to the 87^th minute where UConn scored the deciding goal.

Keys to the Match
> It was scoreless after the first 45 minutes as sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Basileo had three saves in the first half.
> To start off the second half, senior midfielder Elana Falcone scored her fourth goal of the season to put the Owls up 1-0.
> UConn answered back in the 55^th minute as Vivien Beil scored to tie the game 1-1.
> UConn scored again in the 61st minute as Sabrina Toole scored on a header off a corner from Beil to put the Huskies up 2-1.
> The Owls answered back as Kerri McGinley scored off a beautiful corner kick from Kayla Cunningham to tie the game 2-2.
> In the 87^th minute right before the end of the game, Beil scored her second goal of the game to give UConn the 3-2 victory.

Match Notes
> Cunningham led the team in assists for the season with six and with tonight's assist, she finished eighth in the whole conference.
> Falcone and McGinley's goals had them tied for second on the Owls with four goals each this season.
> Basileo finished the match with six saves.

"I was very proud of the team tonight and thought they showed tremendous effort the entire match" said Temple head coach Seamus O'Connor. " It was a tough test on the road that went back and forth constantly. The mental toughness that our players have really is something special."

"The seniors were tremendous leaders throughout their time here and got the program going in the right direction," added O'Connor "We have a lot of work to do but the future looks very bright for our team."
