3.1.17 | Men's Tennis
PHILADELPHIA – Continuing their success from a 2-0 weekend, Temple men's tennis added another victory to the list with a 4-0 win over local rival Drexel. With many come-from-behind defeats, the Owls swept all singles flights and proved dominant in doubles play.
Switching around some doubles partners, the duos of Florian Mayer and Vineet Naran and Thomas Sevel and Artem Kapshuk picked up tough fought doubles wins to start the day.
Kapshuk led off in singles play with a match that did not finish and was followed up by Mayer who grabbed a big win over Drexel's Balaji Lakshmanan. Sevel and Filip Stipcic posted the next two big wins to complete the 4-0 win over the Dragons. Both matches from Francisco Bohorquez and Eric Biscoveanu did not finish.
Overall, the Owls now stand at 7-6 heading into a series of road matches starting in Oklahoma. Temple will face Oral Roberts on Saturday, March 4 before their third American Athletic Conference match against Tulsa on Sunday.
