Women's Tennis Defeats Drexel 4-3 in Mid-Week Dual

PHILADELPHIA – In a Wednesday-morning cross-city dual, Temple women's tennis was able to pick up another win for its 2017 season with a 4-3 defeat of Drexel at the Legacy Tennis Center. Monet Stuckey-Willis posted big wins in both doubles and singles to lead the Owls to an eighth win for the 2017 season.
Stuckey-Willis and partner Yana Khon headed the doubles play with a 6-2 victory over Dragon pair Clary Rodriguez and Ryshena Providence. Alina Abdurakhimova and Dina Karina added a second win the second position before Anais Nussaume and Mariana Bedon posted a match that did not finish.
Abdurakhimova led off singles play in the first position with a dominant win over Drexel's Ghita Benhadi. Stuckey-Willis followed up with her singles victory over Honami Yazawa. Mariana Bedon was the final Owl to add a singles win and lock up an overall victory for the Owls.
The Owls will return to conference play over the weekend with a Sunday dual at Tulsa on the slate. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m.
