PHILADELPHIA – In a dominating performance on Friday night, Temple women's tennis posted a 7-0 victory over La Salle. The win marks the Owls'ninth win of the 2017 campaign as they head towards the back half of their schedule.
Alina Abdurakhimova and Yana Khon opened up the match with a 6-0 doubles victory over Brittany Poje and Ali Snyder. The duos of Dina Karina and Monet Stuckey-Willis and Mariana Bedon and Cecilia Castelli also added 6-0 wins for their doubles flights.
Stuckey-Willis grabbed a big win in the first singles position followed by a singles debut from Galina Chernykh. The graduate student posted her big victory over Ali Snyder 6-4, 7-5. Karina, Khon, Bedon and Castelli followed with wins of their own in that respective order.
Overall, Temple women's tennis stands at 9-7 with a 1-1 conference record they put to the test on March 26 on the road against USF.
