Men's Tennis Adds Two Wins Over St. Francis Brooklyn and La Salle

PHILADELPHIA, PA – In its first of two dual matches today, Temple men's tennis picked up a 7-0 win over La Salle. The win came through a surge of singles wins and marked the Owls' 11th overall win for the season.
The three Owl duos of Artem Kapshuk and Thomas Sevel, Filip Stipcic and Francisco Bohorquez and Vineet Naran and Steven Hollander all captured wins against Explorer pairs to open the dual in doubles play.
Kapshuk opened up the singles play and defeated Francisco Mowery 6-2, 6-4 to kick off an unstoppable Owl lineup. His win was followed up by wins from Sevel, Uladzimir Dorash and Eric Biscoveanu with Stipcic and Naran adding wins in the fifth and sixth positions.
In its second of two duals for the day, Temple men's tennis added a 4-0 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn to its 2017 campaign. The Owls were able to sweep the Red Flashes in singles play and post their 12h overall win this season.
Artem Kapshuk led off with a big singles win in the first position against Alejandro Ridruejo. Uladzimir Dorash, Filip Stipic and Vinnet Naran also grabbed singles wins to secure the victory for the Owls.
The Owls now stand 12-8 overall and return to action April 2 with a dual in New York to face St. John's.
