Women's Tennis Drops 4-3 at Miami OH

HAMILTON, OH. – Opening up a two-match road slate for the weekend, Temple women's tennis suffered its third-straight loss to the Redhawks of Miami (OH) on Friday afternoon. Despite strong singles performances, the Owls fell 4-3 and now stand 9-10 overall.
Alina Abdurakhimova and Yana Khon opened up doubles play with a 6-1 victory over the Redhawks' duo of Nelli Ponomareva and Anzhelika Shapolvalova. Anais Nussaume and Dina Karina and Monet Stuckey-Willis and Mariana Bedon followed up the early Owl victory with a pair of doubles losses.
In singles play, Abdurakhimova, Bedon and Khon wwere able to pick up a wins and nearly take the win. Abdurakhimova led off in the first position and was followed by Stuckey-Willis, Galina Chernykh, Karina, Bedon, and Khon, respectively.
The Owls return to play tomorrow morning with a conference matchup at Cincinnati. The dual is set to begin at 10 a.m.
