Men's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Loss Against Georgetown

PHILADELPHIA – A close, well-played match ended in a loss for Temple men's tennis on Friday night against the Georgetown Hoyas. With a final score of 4-3, the Owls dropped their first match after three consecutive wins beginning on March 24.
The leadoff doubles pair of Artem Kapshuk and Thomas Sevel started things off strong, topping Hoya duo of ___ 6-4. Vineet Naran and Florian Mayer, and Uladzimir Dorash with Francisco Bohorquez, followed the opening pair with two drops.
Kapshuk returned in singles play to grab a victory in the first position that was followed by two consecutive wins from Mayer and Sevel. Dorash, Filip Stipcic and Naran were unable to come away with singles victories in the final three positions.
Temple now stands 13-9 overall with just four matches remaining before the American Athletic Conference Championships. The Owls are set to travel to Penn State Sunday for a 4 p.m. dual in University Park.
