Morgyn Seigfried Promoted to Assistant AD for Digital Media

PHILADELPHIA - Morgyn Seigfried, who has grown the Temple Athletics digital media presence exponentially in her three years at the University, has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Digital Media.  It is her second promotion since being hired as the athletic department's social media coordinator in May, 2014.

"Morgyn has done a remarkable job of not only starting our digital department from scratch, but making it one of the best in the country," said Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "She has been able to engage our fan base across all digital platforms while also excelling as an on-air reporter for OwlsTV."

"Through his support, we have been able to grow and engage the Temple University athletics community on all social media platforms at a record pace. Each year we have raised the bar with newer and more creative ideas and I look forward to continuing to make Temple's digital presence one of the best in the nation."

In her role, Seigfried focuses on building and marketing the Temple Athletics brand through the power of social media. She manages and oversees all social platforms, creates graphics for digital channels, pushes relevant/timely content that highlights the achievements of all Temple teams, and most importantly, engages and grows the Temple fan base.

Since starting in 2014 as the first full-time digital media employee within the athletic department, Seigfried has worked diligently to increase the Temple social media accounts.  The Temple Owls Facebook account has grown its followers by 1,510 percent over that period with the department's Twitter followers exceeding that with a 425 percent growth.

Seigfried created the Temple Athletics Instagram account that now has over 12,500 followers. In June 2017, Temple Athletics earned a #SkullSparksTop25 ranking for #SMSports visual communication while in 2016, Temple Men's Basketball ranked as the sixth most engaged college basketball program accounts heading into March Madness according to

Along with her behind-the-scenes responsibilities for digital media at Temple, Seigfried is a frequent presence on camera for OwlsTV. Her broadcasting role includes interviews with coaches and student-athletes on Temple's football and basketball teams as well as introducing numerous features for the Owls' video department.

Seigfried was a four-year soccer player at Temple, and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2013. She left North Philadelphia after being hired at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., where she spent a year as the athletics content and marketing manager.
