PHILADELPHIA - Temple Athletics has announced the promotion of Elizabeth DeFelice and the hirings of Chris Sasileo and Ken Slough to the Equipment department. DeFelice is now the Director of Equipment Operations, while Sasileo joins the staff as the Head Equipment Manager for basketball and Slough takes over as the Head Football Equipment Manager.
DeFelice has spent the past three years as the Head Equipment Manager for Olympic Sports before being promoted to her new position in June. In her new role, DeFelice oversees the equipment operation for all 19 varsity sports teams at Temple.
Prior to Temple, DeFelice worked as an assistant equipment manager at Northwestern University for seven years. She also served in a similar role at the University of Central Florida from 2006-07, and was an intern at UCF for one year before that.
DeFelice earned a bachelor's degree in physical education, sport and fitness from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis., in 2005. She also earned a minor in business administration.
Slough joins Temple football after a three year stint at the College of Holy Cross where he was responsible for all equipment needs for the Crusaders 27 varsity sports. He is no stranger to Philadelphia, as he worked at La Salle University (2014-15) prior to his time at Holy Cross and spent time with the Eagles (2001-2013).
At La Salle, Slough managed the equipment needs for 20 varsity programs, including inventory reporting, issuing gear, fitting equipment, ordering and providing laundry services.
With the Eagles, he was an assistant equipment manager. He oversaw distribution, maintenance and inventory control of playing equipment and uniforms, and also supervised the equipment move for 150 coaches and players for training camp at Lehigh University. On game days, Slough assisted with locker room and halftime setup and breakdown as well as set up of players and coaches meals.
Slough has also worked at Western Oregon University and spent time with Minor League Baseball's Rochester Red Wings. He earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from Belmont Abbey College in 1992. Slough has also taken post-baccalaureate courses at Penn and Duke.
Sasileo comes to Temple from American Athletic Conference member USF where he spent the past two years as an assistant equipment manager. Among a number of other responsibilities, he worked directly with representatives from Under Armour to purchase and design practice apparel, equipment and uniforms. He served in the same role at Ohio University, his alma mater, from January of 2013 until June of 2015.
While completing his undergraduate degree at Ohio, Sasileo was both an equipment assistant and head student manager, as well as the wrestling team student manager. He graduated with a degree in recreation studies from Ohio in 2013.
