PHILADELPHIA- In a tightly-contested Big 5 rivalry match for its home opener, Temple (1-1) ended up suffering its first loss of the season to La Salle (1-0-1), by a final score of 2-0. The Owls showed a tenacious style of play as the contest remained scoreless all the way until the 82nd minute, when La Salle cashed in on a couple late goals.

Keys to the Match

> Both defenses played extremely well in the first 45 minutes as it was scoreless at the half. The shots were fairly even for both teams to as Temple attempted four shots while La Salle attempted five.

> The game remained scoreless until the 82nd minute, when La Salle's Kristin Haugstad nailed a breakaway goal, giving the Explorers a 1-0 lead over the Owls.

> Just before the end of the game, the Explorers' Madison Bower scored in the 89th minute, sealing the win for La Salle.
