Eleven Home Games Highlight 2018 Lacrosse Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off a second-straight appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament, Temple lacrosse will look to make it three in a row as the Owls play for one last season as part of the BIG EAST Conference. The 2018 slate begins at home for Temple on Saturday, Feb. 10 against Rutgers.
Temple will play 11 of its 17 regular-season games at home on Howarth Field, including five in the month of March. The Owls' first five opponents are repeats of their first five a year ago, a span in which they went 4-1 as part of a 7-1 start to the season. After hosting Rutgers, the Owls will travel to Monmouth on Feb. 14 and then return home for games against #9 Princeton (Feb. 17) and Saint Joseph's (Feb. 25). Temple will close out February at Lafayette on the 25th.
March is home-heavy, as the Owls play five straight at home, starting with a less familiar opponent in #16 James Madison on March 2. Future American Athletic Conference foe ECU is next on March 7, followed by a final non-conference game against La Salle on March 12.
The Owls begin BIG EAST play vs. Denver on March 18, followed by Cincinnati on March 24. Their first league road game takes them to Marquette on March 31.
In April, Temple will play at defending BIG EAST champion #5 Florida, at Butler and at Villanova. Home games will be against UConn (April 7), Vanderbilt (April 18) and Georgetown on April 28 for Senior Day.
The BIG EAST Tournament will be held at Florida on May 3 and 5, featuring four of the league's 10 teams. The Owls lost to the Gators in the BIG EAST Final in 2016, and in the BIG EAST Semifinals in 2017.
Seniors Kira Gensler and Nicole Latgis along with sophomore Kara Nakrasius are team captains this year, leading a group of 20 returning letterwinners including six returning starters. Latgis was a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team, and the Owls were picked to finish fourth among the 10 teams in a vote by the league's head coaches. Head coach Bonnie Rosen enters her 12th season at Temple in 2017 with a record of 97-93, needing just three more victories to reach the 100-win milestone. In her 21-year career, Rosen is 165-174 overall.
