PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's crew team competed in its first big event of the fall, the 2018 Navy Day Regatta. The Owls entered mixed racing lineups into multiple races, coming away with six top-10 finishes.Â
COLLEGIATE 8+
> Temple notched a top-ten finish in the varsity eight event, as the Owls' "A" boat finished eighth overall in 12:33.270.
> Temple's second two boats took 12th (12:42.760) and 13th (12:44.020) respectively, racing in a 27-boat field.
OPEN 4+
> The Owls had three boats in the open four field, with Temple's top boat finishing 14th.
> The Cherry and White clocked in at 14:17.670 in the 31-boat field.
> Two other Temple boats finished in 20th (14:25.570) and 22nd (14:38.720).
FRESHMAN 8+
> It was a seventh place finish for the Owls' freshmen in the 14-boat field.
> Temple finished the course in 12:59.990.
LIGHTWEIGHT 8+
> Both of Temple's lightweight eight entries finished in the top 10.
> Temple's "A" boat placed ninth overall in 12:35.930, while the "B" boat was 10th in 12:40.570.
LIGHTWEIGHT 4+
> The Owls had two boats in the lightweight four event, with the Owls taking sixth (13:57.160) and seventh (14:08.970) overall.
