Temple Mourns Passing of Donny Klein

The Temple Football community is saddened by the news that former offensive lineman, Donny Klein, died tragically in a one-car accident. Klein played for Temple from 1999-2002.

According to NJ.com, Klein was driving a Jeep Wrangler westbound on I-195 when it crashed at 5:11 a.m. near milepost 3 in Hamilton, N.J. State Police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the Jeep and no other vehicles were involved. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Klein was a valuable member of the Owls' offensive line from 1999-2002 making 35 starts and playing in 41 games over his four year career. He earned the 2001 Dr. Arthur N. Cook Award as the teams' most courageous athlete.

A member of the Manasquan High School Hall of Fame, Klein starred in football and lacrosse before graduating in 1999. He later returned to Manasquan High School as a coach for both programs. He served as offensive line coach at The College of New Jersey for the past two seasons.

Klein is survived by his father Donald ll, mother Cindy Zanfini, son Dax and girlfriend Courtney Colford, according to a family member.
