Men’s Tennis Posts Third Place Finishes at Princeton Invite

Princeton, N.J.— Temple men's tennis completed the third day of competition at the Farnsworth Invite, hosted by Princeton University. Day three featured one round of singles and one round of doubles. The Owls posted another strong performance, with both pairs, Alberto Caceres Casas/Mark Wallner and Paolo Cucalon/Uladzimir Dorash, notching third place finishes in their respective draws.

Notes
> Players were paired to create a "mini Davis Cup format." Each pair formed a team that played doubles first, followed by two singles matches. The winner of two of the three matches for each pairing advanced. Losing pairs continued play in a compass draw that guaranteed four singles and four doubles matches.
> Temple was represented by Alberto Caceres Casas, Paolo Cucalon, Uladzimir Dorash and Mark Wallner at the Farnsworth Invite.
> The duo of Caceres Casas and Wallner went undefeated on the day in the Orange Draw. The Owls tandem won their doubles (6-4) and two singles matches against Drexel opponents Youssef Lahlou and Sanil Jagtiani to finish third in their draw. Caceres Casas defeated Lahlou 7-6 (5), 6-0, while Jagtiani conceded a walkover to Wallner.
> Cucalon and Dorash were also unbeaten in today's contests, as they dispatched Drexel en route to a third place finish in the Black Draw. In singles, Cucalon defeated Gustav Wogen 6-4, 7-5, while Dorash triumphed in a three-set match against Alvaro Chamorro 7-5, 2-6, (10-6). Cucalon and Dorash downed the Dragons in doubles, 6-1.
