Seven Fencers Earn All-NIWFA Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Following Temple fencing's 22nd straight title at the National Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association (NIWFA) Championships, seven Owls have earned All-NIWFA recognition.Â
Sophomore Malia Hee of the sabre squad earned two honors, being named to the All-NIWFA First Team in sabre for finishing third as well as to the NIWFA All-Academic Team.
Also for sabre, junior Jessica Rockford and freshman Eva Hinds were named All-NIWFA Second Team for their seventh and eighth place finishes, respectively.
Senior Safa Ibrahim won the individual epee title and was named to the All-NIWFA First Team, as was teammate and junior Fiona Fong for her third-place finish.
In foil, freshman Kari Weiner and junior Auset Muhammad both earned All-NIWFA First Team honors for finishing second and third, respectively.
The Owls will be back in action on Saturday, March 10 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional.
