Senior forward Obi Enechionyia
has accepted an invitation to play at the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational, held at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia from April 11-15.
Now in its 66th year of existence, the PIT invites 64 of the best college basketball seniors from across the nation to participate in a four-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team. Fans can watch live streaming of all games, plus combine testing on the mornings of April 11 and 12, through the event's website – portsmouthinvitational.com.
Enechionyia, who led Temple in rebounding (5.8 rpg) and blocked shots (46), finished his career with 614 rebounds and 170 blocks to place 23rd and seventh on the Owls' all-time lists, respecitvely. He also was third on the team in scoring (10.8 rpg) and his 1,296 points put him at 33rd on Temple's all-time scoring list.
The 2018 American Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, Enechionyia became the eighth Temple player to make 200 three-pointers during his career (200-546, .368). The Springfield, Va. native earned MVP honors from the 2017 Gildan Charleston Classic as well as the 2016 NIT Season Tip-Off, leading the Owls to the championship of both tournaments. He also earned Second Team All-Philadelphia Big 5 honors for the 2016-17 campaign.
