PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's crew team wrapped up action at 2018 IRA National Championships at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. Heats, repechages, and semifinals were contested, but Temple's finals action was canceled due to Inclement weather. The next Owls' outing will be the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta.
VARSITY EIGHT
> Temple opened the racing with a fifth place finish in its opening heat in 6:07.309, ahead of San Diego.
> The Owls' improved on their time in the repechage, clocking in at 5:49.884, outpacing Bates College.
> In the semifinals, they took fourth in a time of 6:01.310, ahead of Marist and San Diego.
SECOND VARSITY
> Temple's second varsity eight also grabbed a fifth place finish in the heats, clocking in at 6:11.084.
> In the repechage, the Owls finished in 6:06.727, ahead of FIT.
> Temple had a great semifinals race, clocking in at 6:05.031 to take third, out-sprinting OSU to finish ahead of the Beavers, plus UC San Diego.
THIRD VARSITY
> Temple's freshman eight boat raced in the third varsity category, finishing fifth in 6:20.027 in the heats.
> In the repechage, the Owls finished seventh in 6:14.526.
LIGHTWEIGHT FOUR
> The Owls had a strong race in a tight field in the heats. Temple finished in 6:21.313, just over a second out of second place.
