PHILADELPHIA - Morgyn Seigfried
, who has grown the Temple Athletics digital media presence exponentially in her four years at the University, has been promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Digital Strategy and Production, announced Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft
. It is her third promotion since being hired as the athletic department's social media coordinator in May, 2014.
"Morgyn has done an incredible job of growing the Temple Athletics brand across all digital platforms," said Kraft. "In this ever changing digital world, we are fortunate to have one of the top individuals in the profession working at Temple. We want to develop and promote our staff whenever possible and Morgyn has proven that she is more than capable of expanding her role here at the University."

"Temple has given so much to me both as a student-athlete and now professionally. I want to thank Dr. Kraft for his continued support and allowing me the freedom and flexibility to creatively grow the Temple brand across all social media platforms. I look forward to continually raising the bar with newer and more creative ideas that will keep Temple's digital presence among the best in the nation."
In her expanded role, Seigfried have direct oversight of OwlsTV, Temple Athletics video department and work to streamline the department's video and digital strategy to enhance the Temple brand. She will also continue management and oversight of all social platforms, create graphics for digital channels, push relevant/timely content to highlights the achievements of all Temple teams.
Since starting in 2014 as the first full-time digital media employee within the athletic department, Seigfried has worked diligently to increase the Temple social media accounts. Through her efforts the main athletics social media accounts (Facebook -1,559%, Instagram 1,410% and Twitter 510%) have grown at incredible rates since 2014. Temple Athletics social media initiatives have been featured in D1 Ticker and Front Office Sports and have been ranked by SkullSparks nationally in each of the past two years.
The growth of Temple's digital media presence has also coincided with the expansion of the Owls' digital media team. Since 2014, Temple Athletics has gone from zero full-time staffers to a team of eight digital media professionals that are led by Seigfried. A well-respected professional in the industry, she has moderated and presented on social media panels at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) the past two years as well as serving as a panelist at the 2017 Social Media Day in Philadelphia.
Along with her digital media oversight, Seigfried is also a frequent presence on camera for OwlsTV. Her broadcasting role includes interviews with coaches and student-athletes on Temple's football and basketball teams as well as introducing numerous features for the Owls' video department.
Seigfried was a four-year soccer player at Temple, and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2013. She left North Philadelphia after being hired at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., where she spent a year as the athletics content and marketing coordinator.
