8.30.18 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – The Temple Owls have agreed to a future two-game home-and-home series with the Penn State Nittany Lions the teams announced today. The series will take place 2026 and 2027.
"We are excited to add this non-conference series to our future football schedule," said Dr. Pat Kraft, Temple's director of athletics. "When the Owls have taken on Penn State in the past there has always been added excitement and I am thrilled to get this series back on the schedule. We want to provide our fans with marquee matchups here at home and within travel distance on the road and Penn State fits that bill."
This will be the 46th game in the all-time series between the two schools. Temple has had more football contests versus Penn State than any other opponent.
Temple will host the first game on September 12, 2026. The last time the Owls hosted PSU on September 5, 2015, Temple defeated the Nittany Lions, 27-10, in front of a sellout crowd of 69,176 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Temple will then travel to State College on September 18, 2027. Temple's 10 largest road crowds have come at Beaver Stadium, including a crowd of 100,420 in the most recent game in 2016.
