Women's Cross Country Set to Race at Army West Point Open

9.13.18 | Women's Cross Country

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University women's cross country team is on the road for the first time this season as they head to Wappingers Falls, N.Y. to compete in the Army West Point Open. The meet will be held at Bowdoin Park this Friday, September 14th, and will have the women racing 5,600 meters starting at 10:00 a.m.

From the Coach
> "Our women are training at a high level right now, and I am really looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish with our full group out there competing," head coach James Snyder explained.
> Snyder discusses the depth of the women's squad this season, coming off of many hard weeks of diligent training. "Kira Van Ehren will be making her debut in the Cherry & White and should be another person that will be racing with our top group.  This is the deepest we've ever been as a team, and I am expecting the field to be a bit more competitive than what we saw at the Temple Invitational, where our women swept the top five individual positions."

> Bowdoin Park is a 301 acre park located on the banks of the Hudson River. It features a 600 meter starting area, challenging hills and wide trails, and became the home to Army Cross Country in 2017.
> The six teams scheduled to compete in the 2018 Army West Point Open are Army West Point, George Washington, Marist, Manhattan, St. Bonaventure, and Temple.
