Temple Mourns the Passing of Philip Slosburg

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University mourns the passing of Philip "Sonny" Slosburg. He was a three-time letterwinner for the Owls from 1945-47 and was selected to the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979. Mr. Slosburg played on the 1945 team that went 9-1 and outscored its opponents 198-51 that season. Playing for College Football Hall of Fame coach Ray Morrison, Mr. Slosburg earned second team All-America honors in 1947.

On August 31, 2018 of Philadelphia, formerly of Cheltenham, PA. Beloved husband of Bernice (nee Lipshutz), devoted father of Harvey (Sion), Stephen (Todd), and Michael (Bonnie) Slosburg. Cherished grandfather and biggest fan of Eric, Corey and Randy Slosburg. He is also survived by sister, Ellen Slossberg. Proud graduate of Central High School and Temple University, where he was an award winning athlete. After several seasons in the NFL, Sonny went on to a career in the textile industry.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Sunday, September 23, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at Paul's Run Retirement Community, 9896 Bustleton Ave., Phila. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
