Liam McGrath Fires 65 in Final Round at the Phoenix Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Temple senior Liam McGrath recorded one of the best rounds in program historic, shooting a six-under 65 in Tuesday's final round of the Phoenix Invitational. McGrath's round helped Temple move up two spots to 12th place among the 16 teams at the event hosted by Elon University at the par-71, 6,867-yard Alamance Country Club.
Recapping the Tournament
> McGrath made eight birdies in his final round and tied for sixth with 15 overall for the 54 holes. He finished tied for 13th with a five-under 208 for his best tournament of his career.
>McGrath also tied for second with the lowest below par (-6) score in Temple history. His round of 65 tied for third all-time at Temple.
> Conor McGrath, Liam's sophomore brother, shot a two-under 69 Tuesday and finished second on the Owls and tied for 19th overall with a three-under 210.
> Freshmen Danny Nguyen and junior Dawson Anders tied for 72nd overall with nine-over 222s while freshman Graham Chase had three eagles for the tournament, but placed tied for 80th at 11-over 224.

> Gardner-Webb won the tournament with a 19-under 833, edging Morehead State by one stroke.
> Jake Scruggs of Gardner-Webb won the individual title with a 19-under 194 with Drexel's Connor Schmidt placing second at -14.
