Women's Rowing Medals Three Times at the Head of the Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's rowing team wrapped up the fall head racing season with a strong performance at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The Owls finished with three medals on the day and will resume competing in the spring.
Hardware
> Temple nabbed three medals on the day with a host of top 10 performances.
> The Owls' novice eight boat came away with a gold medal, while Temple's club championship eight, and the pair of sophomore Nadia Bangura and junior Elaine Tierney each won silver medals.
Eights
> Temple's varsity eight boat had a strong showing, taking sixth place overall in 14:09.715.
> In the club eights, Temple's "A" boat finished second overall, in a field of 38 crews. The Owls tallied a time of 14:17.675, while the "B" boat took seventh in 14:32.829.
Fours
> Temple had three entries in the championship fours, with the "A" boat placing sixth overall in 15:15.613.
> The Owl's "C" boat took 12th overall (15:44.098) while the "B" boat was 13th in 15:51.125, in a field of 48.
> In the novice four race, Temple's "A" boat won in a time of 15:22.402, topping the field of 23.
> The Owls' "C" boat took sixth in 17:44.926, while the "B" boat took 12th in 19:02.836.
Pairs
> All four of Temple's pairs recorded top 10 finishes in the championship event, led by the silver medal performance of Tierney and Bangura, whose time of 15:51.452 was just 2.87 seconds off the winning crew.
> The Owls' Gabby DiMarco and Kate McCulloch finished fourth overall in 16:20.828, just missing the medals.
> Temple's Reilly Bonner and Meghan Smith took seventh in 16:41.316 while Emily Kiehn and Stephanie Hartman took eighth in 16:44.426.
