Nate Pierre-Louis Named AAC and Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Junior Nate Pierre-Louis was named the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending November 10.   It is the second AAC Player of the Week honor for the Owls guard and the first Big 5 weekly accolade.

The Plainfield, N.J native (Roselle Catholic) averaged 17.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg., 4.5 rpg., 5.5 spg., 1.0 bpg. in leading Temple to a 2-0 week.  The team co-captain led the Owls in scoring, rebounding and steals in both Temple wins and his three straight double-doubles (dating back to NCAA game with Belmont last year) are most by a Temple player since 2011 (Lavoy Allen).

Against Drexel (Nov. 5), he took over for the Owls in the second half, scoring 12 points over a 10-minute stretch to break open a 31-31 tie and give Temple a 54-42 advantage. The 6-4 guard posted his second straight double-double of the season, 19 points and 11 rebounds, to lead Temple to a 75-57 win over visiting Morgan State (Nov. 9).  He also had six assists in the contest.

Temple (2-0) next travels to La Salle (1-0) on Saturday (2 pm/ESPN+/1210 AM WPHT).
