Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation
Â
Edward Taylor Coombs was an alumni from my high school, Hatboro-Horsham and went onto playing Lacrosse at Marist College. However, in August of 2011, after only completing one academic year at Marist, Edward died in a fatal car accident. The Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation was created to continue Edward's legacy of academic and athletic talents by providing financial assistance to outstanding student scholar/athletes so they can pursue their goals and reach their full potential. In addition, this foundation works with high school students around the issues of responsible decision making through seminars and forums.      Â

One Love Foundation
Â
I chose the One Love Foundation because I think that relationship violence and abuse is a problem that is often ignored, especially by college aged girls. One Love works to educate and start conversations about the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships to help young adults have the confidence to stand up for themselves and help others around them recognize when they are in an abusive relationship.

Helping Haitians Help Haitians
Â
I chose this group because it is an organization that has a direct tie with my church. I had the opportunity to serve with this group and have a hands on experience of seeing how their money and ministry affects people of that nation. They are providing medical missions to Haiti to provide health care for those in need. They also help run a vacation bible school for the local kids in the area where they have a safe space to engage and get a free meal. Â

Hussman Center for Adults with Autism
Â
The Hussman Center for Adults with Autism is a foundation my aunt and uncle started for adults with autism. This is important to me because my cousin Ross is an adult with autism. There are far less opportunities and support systems for adults with autism versus children. This foundation has helped spread awareness and create opportunities for these individuals.

I believe that blood donation is a serious priority in our country and needs more attention. My dad is one of the only people I know that is constantly donating blood when he is allowed to. He has 0- blood so he is a universal donor but every type of blood donation is important. I try to donate as much as possible but sometimes I am unable to. The Red Cross is an organization made up of mostly volunteers and it is purely working to saves lives.
