Women’s Tennis Falls to Memphis in First Round in AAC Championships

ORLANDO, Fla.—Temple women's tennis (13-7, 0-4 AAC) played as the No. 9 in the first round of the American Athletic Conference Championships Wednesday against No. 8 Memphis. The Owls battled tough against the Tigers, but they ultimately fell 4-0 at the USTA National Campus.

Notes
> In doubles, Memphis took the decision in the No. 2 spot and Temple's pair of Oleksandra Doroshenko and Chunan Xiang won in the No. 3 spot. The doubles point came down to court one. Ruoyu Chen and Stefaniya Surikova showed grit and toughness at first doubles, but Memphis came out on top (7-5) to earn the point.
> Memphis won at fourth, fifth and first singles to go ahead 4-0 and clinch a berth to the quarterfinals.
