Women’s Tennis Wraps up Regular Season this Week

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's tennis (10-6, 0-3 AAC) will close out its regular season slate with three matches this week. The team will play its final two home matches on Wednesday, April 10 against Drexel and Thursday, April 11 against La Salle. Before Thursday's match, senior Alice Patch will be honored as the team celebrates Senior Day. The Owls will the then travel to Winter Park, Fla. to take on Rollins in their last regular season match.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 11th year at the helm of the women's program.
> Last time out, Temple traveled to Tulsa to face the Golden Hurricane on Saturday, April 6. Tulsa came out on top, 7-0, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
> The doubles pair of Patch and Oyku Boz have been impressive this season. They own a 9-4 record this season, playing on courts one, two and three. In singles, Ruoyu Chen holds a 9-4 record at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
Scouting Drexel
> Drexel is led by Drew Lied, who is in his first year as head coach of the Dragons.
> The Dragons are 9-9 this season and 1-3 in the CAA. The team last competed on Sunday, April 7 at CAA foe Towson. The Dragons fell to the Tigers, 4-3.
> Temple and Drexel last met in dual meet matchup in 2018. The Dragons edged the Owls, 5-2.
Scouting La Salle
> La Salle is led by Chad Hamilton, who is in his second year as head coach of the Explorers.
> The Explorers hold a 1-10 record, going 0-1 in the A10. Last time out, La Salle faced A10 opponent St. Bonaventure on Saturday, April 6. The Explorers dropped the contest to the Bonnies, losing 5-2.
> Temple and La Salle last met February 13 at the Legacy Tennis Center. The Owls swept the Explorers, 7-0.
Scouting Rollins
> Rollins' head coach, Bev Buckley, has led the Tars for 32 years.
> The Tars are 8-8 this season and 2-4 in the Sunshine State Conference. The team last competed on Sunday, April 7 against Barry. Rollins fell to Barry, 6-1.
> Temple and Rollins last met in 2015 in Winter Park, Fla. The Owls swept the Tars, 7-0.
