Another Record Setting Temple Toast for the Owl Club

PHILADELPHIA - On Thursday, April 25, the Temple Owl Club participated in Temple Toast, a one day University-wide giving campaign during Temple's Global Days of Service. During the 24-hour campaign, 444 Temple alumni, fans and friends rallied around athletics to contribute over $169,000 in gifts toward student-athlete resources.
The generosity of an anonymous donor's $50,000 challenge boosted efforts, for an overall impact of over $219,000 toward Temple's 19 athletics programs.
The tremendous support from donors on Temple Toast placed Athletics at the top of the leaderboard, making up almost 50% of all University dollars raised on the day, and marking a record-setting year for most dollars raised by Temple Athletics on Temple Toast. The Owl Club's 444 athletic donors included 219 alumni spanning seven decades (1955-2018).
This year, the Owl Club issued a sport specific challenge, which played out to the tune of 342 donors for over $28,000. The lacrosse team won all three challenges with 127 donors, raising over $5,000, smashing their goal.
Donations by Owl Club members help to provide scholarships, academic aid and training resources. Previous projects completed through the generous support of Owl Club members include the hiring of a full-time mental health expert, creation of the New York Angels Student-Athlete Lounge, expansion of the Resnick Academic Center, renovation of Olympic Sport Locker rooms and Olympic Sport Weight Room enhancements.
