Owls in the NFL - Week 13
12.8.20 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – As the NFL season approaches its final few weeks, former Owls continue to contribute to their respective teams, as nine of them saw action this past week.
Two Owls faced off against each other this week, as Indianapolis and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (2018) traveled to face Houston and linebacker Jacob Martin (2014-17). Ya-Sin had two tackles in the game and Martin recorded one tackle, a huge third-down sack of Phillip Rivers in the fourth quarter. Martin's third sack of the year forced Indianapolis out of field goal range which kept it a one-possession game. Indianapolis would end up winning the game 26-20, improving their record to 8-4.
On Sunday night, Denver kicker Brandon McManus (2009-12) hit a 53-yard field goal and converted his only extra point attempt in a 22-16 loss to Kansas City.
Three players saw action in two games on a Monday night doubleheader. First, Washington wide receiver Isaiah Wright (2016-19) had a five-yard reception in the team's 23-17 victory over the previously unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers. Then, Buffalo offensive tackle Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and linebacker Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) faced off against San Francisco and came away with the 34-24 win as the Bills moved to 9-3. Dawkins helped block for an offense that totaled 449 yards and Matakevich saw action on special teams in the win.
