Men's Basketball Snaps Skid with 76-64 Win Over ECU

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's basketball team defeated ECU 76-64 Saturday afternoon, snapping its four-game losing streak. With the win, the Owls improve to 11-10 (3-6 AAC) while the Pirates fall to 9-13 (3-6 AAC). 

Game Summary
> The Owls were hot from the field, shooting nearly 49 percent and 40 percent behind the arc.
> Temple controlled the game for the majority of both halves, taking a 16-point lead midway through the first half. 
> ECU never led by more than three, with its lead to end the first half being the only time the Pirates were ahead.
> J.P. Moorman II recorded his first double-double of the season on 13 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
> Four Owls scored in double-figures, with Quinton Rose's 20 leading the team. ECU's Tremont Robinson-White led both teams with 21. 
> The Temple defense held ECU's leading scorer Jayden Gardner (21.3 ppg) to just 11 points, with Moorman II his main defender.

First Half
> Temple opened the half hot, scoring first and going on an 18-4 run in the first six minutes.
> The Owls' defense held the Pirates scoreless for over four minutes, taking a 26-10 lead with 10 minutes left on the clock. 
> ECU responded with a 20-4 run, taking its first lead on a trey from JJ Miles.
> The Owls tied it at 30 on a pair of free throws from Arashma Parks with just under two minutes left, but the Pirates retook the lead with a basket at the end of the half. Temple trailed just 32-30 at halftime.
> Nate Pierre-Louis' 10 points and Moorman II's five boards led both teams.

Second Half
> The Owls quickly retook the lead after halftime, going on a 17-4 run and holding ECU scoreless for nearly four minutes.
> ECU chipped away at the deficit with a 11-2 run, but the Owls pulled away and kept a comfortable lead.
> Temple went on a 5-0 run late in the game to lead 64-53 with just under five minutes left on the clock.
> The Owls sealed the victory a pair of free throws from Rose to end the game.
