Lacrosse to Host No. 6 Princeton

PHILADELPHIA - After splitting its first two games of the season, the Temple lacrosse team will host No. 6 Princeton Saturday afternoon in the third of a six-game February homestand.

Scouting Temple 
> Temple is 1-1 on the season, winning its season opener and narrowly falling to Rutgers in mid-week action.
> Two Owls scored hat tricks in the season opener, with Olivia Thompson scoring four and Maddie Gebert scoring three. Thompson and Gebert have each scored four goals in two games, while Bridget Whitaker and Jen Rodzewich have both scored three.
> Freshman Belle Mastropietro leads the team with 13 ground balls, eight ahead of Kara Nakrasius who led the team in 2019. 
> Gebert leads the team with 10 shots, while Mastropietro has fired seven.

Scouting Princeton
> Princeton comes to Broad Street for its season opener, and will play seven of its first 10 games on the road.
> The Tigers finished 2019 with a No. 6 national ranking, winning the Ivy League regular season and tournament crown before advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals. 
> Princeton returns four All-Ivy selections from last year, with three earning Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American honors in 2020.
> 21 Tigers from last season remain on the squad, returning six starters from the 2019 lineup.

Series History vs. Princeton
> Temple and Princeton are meeting for the 33rd time in series history, with Princeton holding a 23-9 advantage.
> The last meeting between the two teams was in 2019, with the Owls falling 16-7.
