2020 Football Schedule

2.18.20 | Football

PHILADELPHIA – The American Athletic Conference announced its 2020 football schedule today completing Temple's slate of twelve games for the 2020 season.

Second-year head coach Rod Carey, who led Temple to a 8-5 record and a berth in the Military Bowl in 2019, looks to extend the current streak of five straight bowl appearances. Temple has been bowl eligible for six straight seasons and nine of the last 11.

"I think this schedule is going to provide us a true test," said Carey. "I know that all of our players and coaches are excited for the opportunity to represent Temple and it's great fan base. We're going to attack this offseason to ensure that we are prepared for what lies ahead and show the nation what it means to be 'Temple TUFF.'"

The non-conference schedule will begin with a trip to Hard Rock Stadium, home of Super Bowl 54, to face the Miami Hurricanes in the season opener on Sept. 5. The Owls follow with their home opener against Idaho on Sept. 12. Temple recently signed a lease agreement to continue playing its home games at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Temple will then host Rutgers (Sept. 19) before starting conference play and will close out the non-conference schedule on Oct. 10 at UMass.

Temple's AAC slate of games begins at Navy on Sept. 26. The conference schedule then hits full stride on Oct. 17 when the Owls host USF. After that home game, Temple plays three of four on the road at Memphis, Tulane and UCF, with one home game against SMU – an ESPN Network nationally televised Thursday night matchup - nestled in between (there is a chance this game might be moved to Saturday pending the release of the NFL schedule). The Owls then close out the regular season with back-to-back home contests vs. ECU and Cincinnati. For the sixth straight year, the American Athletic Conference will hold a Conference Championship Game set for Saturday, December 5, 2020.

2020 Temple Football season tickets will go on sale this month.  Call the Temple Ticket Sales Office at 215-204-TIXX for more information.
