2.4.20 | Men's Basketball

MEMPHIS – After ending a season-long four-game skid Saturday against ECU, Temple men's basketball heads on the road to take on Memphis Wednesday (8 pm ET/CBSSN/1210 AM WPHT).  The Owls (11-10, 3-6 AAC) are in a three-way tie for seventh in the tight American Athletic Conference while the preseason co-favorite Tigers (16-5, 5-3) are tied for fifth.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple, under the direction of first-year head coach Aaron McKie, sports a balanced attack with two players averaging double figures and another four averaging 6.0 points or more.
> Senior guard Quinton Rose leads Temple (2nd AAC) in scoring (15.6 ppg), assists (3.6 apg/9th AAC), steals (1.9 spg/t-5th AAC) and is the only players to rank in the Top 10 in the conference in these categories.
> Junior guard Nate Pierre-Louis, who scored a career-high 22-points vs. Cincinnati, leads Temple in rebounding (8.0 rpg/5th AAC), while ranking second in scoring (11.6 ppg), assists (2.9 apg) and steals (2.0/3rd AAC).
 > Senior Alani Moore II (8.5 ppg) has doubled his offensive output from last year (4.1 ppg) and is fourth in the AAC in threes per game (2.2) and sixth in three-point percentage (.404).
> Rounding out the starting five are sophomore Jake Forrester (8.4 ppg/4.4 rpg) and junior J.P. Moorman II (6.0 ppg), who ranks second on the team in rebounding (5.5 rpg).
> Junior De'Vondre Perry (6.7 ppg), who ranks second in the AAC in three-point percentage (.435), redshirt junior Monty Scott (4.8 ppg) and freshman Josh Pierre-Louis (4.3 ppg) have provided the most impact from the Owls' deep bench.  Perry has missed the last four games due to a toe injury.

SCOUTING MEMPHIS
> Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway is in his second year as the Tigers head coach.  Like McKie, he is one of 28 former NBA players serving as head coaches at the Division I level.
> Freshman Precious Achiuwa is the only player in the AAC averaging a double-double, ranking fifth in the conference in scoring (15.2 ppg) while topping the league in rebounding (10.1rpg).  He also ranks third in blocks (1.9 bpg) and sixth in field goal percentage (.528).
> Two other Tigers, D.J. Jeffries (10.8 ppg) and Lester Quinones (10.1 ppg), average double figures while Alex Lomax (7.2 ppg) tops the team and is third in the AAC in assists (4.3 apg).
> Memphis is 11-2 at home, but has lost two of its last four outings at the Fedex Forum.
