In the book of your life, what’s the title of the Temple chapter? "Don't Blink!"

What’s the best part about being a member of the lacrosse team at Temple/what will you miss the most? The best part about being a member of the lacrosse team at Temple are the friendships you make with all the girls you play with along the way. Each year has brought me different experiences that are unique. I have made amazing friendships with people from all of my years that I will carry with me for the rest of my life with no questions asked. My class, in particular, has been through some of the craziest ups and downs 10 individuals can go through, and this has created a bond between us to make us more like sisters than friends. Through our highs and lows, we’ve created such a strong bond that makes it almost impossible for me to put into words how much I value each and every one of them. I’ll miss getting to wake up and go play the sport I love with my favorite girls by my side.

What is your favorite memory of being a student-athlete at Temple? I have countless amounts of memories from being on the lacrosse team. Playing-wise, nothing is better than being on the field during a game and being able to celebrate goals. Off the field, any time we get super serious about dancing are singing are hands down my favorite.

If you could give advice to your freshman year self, what would it be? If I could give my freshman year self any advice it would be to play every day with no fear and leave everything you have on the field every day.

Where do you see yourself in five years? I'm not exactly sure where I see myself in 5 years, but I know I want to move around and experience new things. The biggest lesson I’ve learned from this year is that life always has curve balls to throw at you, so enjoy where you are in the moment and be ready for anything for the future.

There are so many people I want to say thank you to over my lacrosse career. First, thank you to my parents for giving me never ending support and love. I am so thankful to have parents who do everything they can to give me all the opportunities I could ever ask for in life. No amount of thank yous will ever justify how much that means to me. Second, my friends and my teammates are my girls. We say over and over again that the people we are surrounded by constantly are what make this experience so unique and special and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. Finally, I have to give a huge shout out to Kelsie for always keeping my broken body together the best she could. I hope that everyone is as lucky as we are to have not only the best athletic trainer, but a kind soul as her. She has held myself, and the team, together in more ways than you can count since the second she started with our team. Also shout out s.dot and Teefy for your endless work and deception to making us better. We are so lucky to have people who care about us so much!Abby Overman, Temple Lacrosse Class of 2020
