5.19.20 | General
PHILADELPHIA - Tim Teefy, Temple University's Assistant Athletic Director - Olympic Sports Performance, has been named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). This honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession, and the ceremony is undoubtedly the highlight of the association's National Conference each year.
Â
Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Michael Hill, from Georgetown University, will present Coach Teefy with the blue MSCC Jacket on Thursday evening, May 6, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the 2021 CSCCa National Conference due to the cancellation of the 2020 CSCCa National Conference as a result of COVID-19.
Â
"I am extremely honored and humbled to be receiving the MSCC. This honor is a direct result of those individuals who have supported and fostered my growth in this field. I want to first thank Augie Maurelli and Mike Hill for providing me with my first opportunity in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning at Georgetown University. I also want to thank all of my former and current assistants, especially Coach Whitney who has been with me every step of the way here at Temple University. Without their support I would not have developed into the Coach and person I am today. Finally, I want to thank Dr. Kraft and the rest of the administration at Temple University, who have continued to enrich my experiences and development."
Â
"This is such an appropriate and well-deserved honor for Tim," said Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "He has been an invaluable member of our athletic department since joining our staff five years ago and has contributed not only to the development of our student-athletes but to enhancing our overall athletics program. On behalf of Temple Athletics, congratulations Tim!"  Â
Â
"This is an incredible honor for Tim," says CSCCa Executive Director, Dr. Chuck Stiggins. "Being named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach signifies a commitment to the student athlete, the Temple University Athletic Program, and the strength and conditioning profession. We are honored to have Coach Teefy as a member of our association and to have him join the ranks of the Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches. He is truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional."
Â
Teefy joined the Temple Athletics staff as the Head Olympic Strength & Conditioning Coach in January, 2015. His position became Director of Olympic Sports Performance in May, 2016. In December of 2018, Teefy was named the Assistant Athletic Director of Olympic Sports Performance.  Teefy had previously worked at Villanova, High Point, George Mason and Georgetown. He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education/sports management from West Virginia University in 1999 and earned his master's in kinesiology/exercise physiology from West Chester University in 2008.
