Temple Places Ten on Athlon’s Preseason All-AAC Team

6.8.20 | Football

PHILADELPHIA – In its annual 2020 College Football Preview released this week, Athlon's named ten Temple football players to its All-American Athletic Conference teams.

Representing Temple on the first team are offensive lineman Vincent Picozzi and defensive lineman Ifeanyi Maijeh. Defensive lineman Daniel Archibong was the lone second teamer. The third team placed running back Re'Mahn Davis, wide receiver Jadan Blue and offensive lineman Isaac Moore on offense and cornerback Christian Braswell on defense. Offensive lineman Adam Klein, linebacker Isaiah Graham-Mobley and safety Amir Tyler round out the fourth team.

With five players on both offense and defense, that provides a balance of star-power on each side of the ball. Three offensive linemen earning recognition will have to offset the loss of Matt Hennessy and Jovahn Fair to the NFL.  Defensively for the Owls in 2020 there is all-conference potential at each level of the defense.

The 2020 American Athletic All-Conference team is led by 17 selections from UCF, with Memphis and Cincinnati each featuring 13 picks. Those three teams were predicted by the magazine to be the frontrunners to win the conference in 2020, so it should be no surprise they top the list of most selections. Tulane (12), Temple (10) and Navy (10) headline the next tier of selections on the 2020 all-conference picks from the AAC.

An important note on the all-conference teams: These are based on how players will perform in 2020. Career statistics and awards matter in the evaluation, but choosing players for the 2020 all-conference team is largely based on predicting and projecting the best for the upcoming year.
