Bolukbasi tallied second double-double of the season in loss

PHILADELPHIA - On Friday night in McGonigle Hall, graduate student Miray Bolukbasi earned her second double-double of the season with 16 kills and 11 digs, but it wasn't enough as the Owls fell to Tulsa 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 23-25), falling to 5-15 overall on the season and 1-8 in the AAC.

RECAPPING THE MATCH

Set 1

> Right-side hitter Peyton Boyd kept Owls in the first set with three of four first-set kills, knotting the score at 13-13, but Tulsa went on a 6-1 run that gave them the advantage, 19-13. The Golden Hurricane never looked back, winning 25-19.

Set 2

> The second set featured 10 ties and four lead changes. Graduate students Katerina Papzoglou (6) and Bolukbasi (5) combined for 11 of the 18 Temple kills, but it wasn't enough as Tulsa took a 2-0 lead with a 25-23 win.

Set 3

> The Owls jumped out to their largest lead of the match by seven points (19-12).

> Temple came out with a strong game plan, holding UT to a .122 hitting percentage in set three.

> Temple had five team blocks, highlighted individually by middle blocker Taylor Davenport's four.

> Bolukbasi fueled the Owls' offense in the third set with nine of her 16 kills.

> Tulsa's Callie Cook gave her team the momentum late in set three with three straight points off her serve.

> The Golden Hurricane would end the match on a 5-0 run, winning 25-23.

> Falanika Danielson: team-high 19 digs
