Women's Rowing Announces 2021-22 Novice Roster

PHILADELPHIA -- After a grueling try-out process, the Temple women's rowing team has selected its novice squad for the 2021-22 season school year.
From the Coach
"We're so excited to have a season with walk-on's as part of the team again! It's been some time since we've done this process for TUWR and we're looking forward to seeing these athletes grow and contribute to the team this year," noted Novice Coach Anastasia Price. "We welcome anyone interested in the team to reach out to Coach Breanne Fitzsimmons and I if you feel like you have what it takes! We cannot wait to see what this talented group can accomplish this year."
>The Temple novice squad will have their first race at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday, October 30th.
Meet the Owls' Novices
>Alessandra Arvelo is a 5'2 coxswain from Spotsylvania, VA., where she attended Riverbend High School. Arvelo was the captain of her field hockey team where she received 3 varsity letters. A freshman at Temple, she is a psychology major with a minor in neuroscience.
>Corinne Carlson is a 5'8 rower from Yardley, Pa., where she attended Pennsbury High School. Carlson was a member of her varsity bowling team. She is a dean's list student and a member of the national honors society. A sophomore at Temple, she is majoring in environmental science.
>Sarah Chambers is a 5'5 rower from Philadelphia, Pa., where she attended Oxford Area High School. A sophomore recreational therapy major, she served as captain of her color guard team in her junior and senior at Oxford Area. Chambers is a RTSA member at Temple.
> Anna Dudareva is a 5'11 rower from Moscow, Russia., where she attended Moscow School 1287. She was a part of the youth volleyball school of Olympic reserve, where she placed third in the Moscow championship. Dudareva is a member of the Temple student government, Temple news, and president of the white hall residence hall. A freshman at Temple, she is an architecture major with a minor in sports management.
>Meredith Gibson is a 5'8 rower from Worcester, Ma., where she attended Bancroft School. Gibson was a two-year rower in high school where she the Medford Mayor's Cup in 2018. A junior at Temple, she is a psychology major with minors in criminal justice and Spanish.
>Renee Goga is a 5'4 rower from Neptune, NJ., where she attended the Academy of Allied Health and Science. A two-year member of her regional basketball team, she was a division champion in the 2019-2020 season. Goga is involved as a research assistant at Temple University's Health science campus. A sophomore at Temple, she is a cellular and molecular neuroscience major.
>Kendal Hart is a 5'9 rower from Downingtown Pa., where she attended Downingtown STEM Academy. Hart was a cheerleader in high school and a national Coed game day champion. A freshman at Temple, she is a geography and urban studies major.
>Jordan Howe is a 5-5 rower from O'Fallon, IL., where she attended O'Fallon Township High School. A former member of the NCAA gymnastics team (2020-2021) and EAGL Scholar Athlete (2020-2021) at Temple University. Howe is a sophomore biochemistry and Spanish double major at Temple.
> Anna Hricko is a 5'6 rower from West Chester, Pa., where she attended Unionville High School. A two-sport athlete (rowing, swimming), she was her crew team's varsity captain in 2020. Hricko is a freshman transfer from Merrimack College, she is a nursing major.
>Nora Kelleher is a 5'5 rower from Doylestown, Pa., where she attended Central Bucks West. A junior at Temple, Kelleher is majoring in English.
>McKayla Kelly is a 6'1 rower from Holland, Pa., where she attended Council Rock High School South. A senior transfer from University of the Sciences, she was a two-sport athlete (volleyball, track and field) in the CAAC. Kelly was the 2018-2019 USciences female rookie of the year in volleyball, and the 2019 CACC women's field rookie of the year in track in field. Kelly is a health professions major at Temple.
> Jessica Kline is a 5'3 rower from Mountain Top, Pa., where she attended Wyoming Seminary College Prep School. Kline was a member for the deans list of high honors during her senior year. A sophomore at Temple, she is a graphic design major.
>Alexandra Lucas is a 5'5 rower from Souderton, Pa., where she attended Souderton Area High School. A sophomore transfer from Towson University where she competed in club gymnastics. Lucas is a special education major at Temple.
>Makayla Pickett is a 5'9 rower from Lewes, Pa., where she attended Wissahickon High School. A two-sport athlete (water polo, track and field), she placed third at states in water polo. Pickett is a sophomore business management major at Temple.
>Ava Pollazzi is a 5'2 coxswain from Yardley, Pa., where she attended Pennsbury High School. A junior transfer from West Chester University, she a two-sport athlete in high school (boys lacrosse, cheerleading). Pollazzi is a communication entrepreneur and public relations major.
>Annabel Roy is a 5'3 coxswain from Middlebury, CT., where she attended Pomperaug High School. Roy was a member of the French honors society, Mu Alpha Theta honors society, and Rho Kappa honors society in high school. A sophomore at Temple, Roy is a psychology major.
>Ellie Spasova is a 5'7 rower from Newtown, Pa., where she attended Council Rock High School North. A three-sport athlete in high school (cross country, indoor/outdoor track), she is a sophomore political science major. Spasova went undefeated in the (2016-2017; 2018-2019) cross country and track seasons.
>Allie Summerville is a 5'8 rower from Harrisburg, Pa., where she attended Central Dauphin High School. A two-sport athlete in high school (soccer, cross country), Summerville was a 4-year captain and state cup finalist of her club soccer team. A sophomore accounting major, she is a dean's list student.
>Dominique Vernon is a 5'6 rower from Dover, NH., where she attended Dover High School. Vernon is a part of the white hall community council secretary. A freshman at Temple, Vernon is a marketing major.
> Gabrielle Williams is a 5'6 rower from Glenside, Pa., where is attended Cheltenham High School. Williams competed in swimming where she held the medley relay record in her senior year. A junior at Temple, she is a nursing and dental medicine major.
