PHILADELPHIA – Temple University has added two new members to the Nancy and Donald Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes. Jennifer Locey, the Assistant Director / Football Support Services, and Jovahn Fair, an Academic Advisor, join Justin Miller and his staff in the academic support of the football program.
"I am pleased to welcome Jenn to the Temple family," said Miller, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Career Services. "And Jovahn is not a stranger to Temple or our staff. They both have a strong desire to support student-athletes' academic goals and will help us provide resources to our football program's continued record-setting performance in the classroom."
Jennifer Locey oversees the football academic support services. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Miami (Fla.) in sports administration. After graduation from Miami, Locey went on to serve as an assistant academic advisor at the UCF until 2016. After her time at UCF, Locey went on to Mississippi as a learning specialist and served in that role until 2017. In April 2017, Locey joined the staff at Syracuse working primarily with the women's soccer and football programs until her arrival at Temple in 2021.
"I am very excited to be joining the Resnick Staff to support our student-athletes here at Temple," said Locey. "I am appreciative for the opportunity to work with Justin and the dynamic staff in Resnick."
A former member of the Temple Owls' football team, Jovahn Fair returns to campus in the role of Academic Advisor. Fair was a four-year starter for Temple and hold the distinction as the only player in school history to start four bowl games. He became the starting left guard in 2016, when the Owls won the American Athletic Conference Championship and played in 46 games earning all-conference honors as a junior and senior.
The Akron, Ohio, native was also outstanding in the classroom earning multiple American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors and was the 2018 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year by Temple Athletics. Fair earned a degree in human development and community engagement in the spring of 2019 and began working on his master's degree in higher education.
"I want to thank Justin Miller not just for the opportunity to return to Temple but for all the time he and his staff spent with me during my time as an undergraduate," said Fair. "It is my privilege to be able to support the next generation of Owls the way that the academic support staff supported me in my time as a student-athlete."
