Women's Soccer Back in Conference Play this Sunday

PHILADELPHIA — After securing a win versus the NJIT Highlanders and moving to 2-0 in non-conference play, the Owls are back on the hunt for their first conference win of the season, taking on the Cincinnati Bearcats this Sunday, March 14 at 12 p.m. at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Owls
- Last time out, the Owls defeated NJIT, 1-0, evening their record to 2-2-1. Junior midfielder Hailey Gutowski scored the game's lone goal, assisted by senior forward Emma Wilkins.
- For her game-winning goal, Gutowski picked up her third career AAC honor roll award and first of the season. Gutowski also leads the team this season in goals (2), points (4), shots (8) and SOG (7).
- Junior captain Kamryn Stablein still leads the conference as the top goalkeeper, with 37 saves in five games and a save percentage of 0.860.
- Cincinnati finished the 2019 season 7-9-3 (AAC 5-3-1), losing to SMU in the first round of the AAC tournament.
- Defender Ashley Barron and forward Sophie Gorman received preseason All-American Athletic Conference honors.
- Also returning for the Bearcats are 2019 leading scorer Han Tang, who amassed five goals, and starting goalkeeper Madison Less who picked up six shut-outs last season.
- Last time out, the Bearcats were defeated by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 0-2, bringing their season record to 1-2.
- Temple is 2-4-1 all-time against Cincinnati with the teams' last meeting in 2019. The Owls lost to the Bearcats 0-2.
