3.15.21 | Women's Lacrosse

PHILADEPHIA- The Temple lacrosse team is ranked in both the IWLCA coaches poll (T- No. 25), and the Inside Lacrosse Maverik media poll (No. 20). They also received votes in the US Lacrosse Magazine poll for the second time this season. This is the first time Temple has received votes in the Inside Lacrosse poll since 2016.

The Owls have made a name for themselves this season with a 4-1 record. Highlights thus far include a 17-2 win over Villanova and an impressive 11-10 double overtime victory over No. 11 Towson earlier this week. Their only loss is against another team ranked in all three polls, Drexel.

Temple has several players that have stood out nationally this season. Attacker Meghan Hoffman is third in Division-I with 3.2 assists per game. Defender Courtney Taylor ranks third in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.8) and is fifth in ground balls per game (4.2).

As a team, the Owls have controlled possession by winning draw controls. Temple is sixth in the country in draw control percentage at 63.3%, and seventh in draw controls per game (16.2). Their five fouls committed per game are the least in all of Division I.

The Owls will return to action with a ranked matchup Friday, Mar. 19 against No. 11/11 Florida at Howarth Field. This will be the first of two matchups this weekend against the Gators, with the second taking place on Sunday. The game is set for 3 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
