Endres and Johnson Earn AAC Weekly Honors
3.15.21 | Women's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA -- After beating Cincinnati 2-1 in a road game showdown, freshman Lexy Endres and junior Gabriela Johnson have received weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) as announced on Monday.
Endres, a Medford, N.J. native, picked up her first AAC Rookie of the Week award after her efforts in Sunday's battle. Johnson drew the foul that would set up the penalty kick for Endres, giving her her first goal as an Owl and the equalizer versus the Bearcats. Endres has proven to be a strong addition to the Owls' offensive line, starting in every game so far this season and providing the assist to the Owls' lone goal in the draw versus East Carolina.
Johnson would nab her first AAC Honor Roll award of the season and her career after a dominant showing versus Cincinnati. In addition to drawing the foul that allowed Endres to capitalize on with a penalty kick, Johnson's first goal of the season would be one to remember. She picked up the game-winning goal after a beautiful cross from fellow midfielder Hailey Gutowski and went on to lead the team with three shots and one on goal.
