Women's Tennis Hosts Towson This Saturday

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's tennis is set to host the Towson Tigers at TU Pavillion on Saturday, Mar. 20 at 1 p.m. This competition marks the first match between the Owls and Tigers since Feb. 2006.
The Owls
> Last time out, Temple defeated George Mason, 6-1, lifting their record to 2-1.
> Oleksandra Doroshenko and Vineetha Mummadi are undefeated in singles competition.
> Following the match against Towson, the Owls will remain home to host Binghamton before facing city foes, Drexel, St Joseph's and Villanova.
Scouting Towson
> Towson is led by head coach Jamie Peterson who is in his fourth year at the helm of the Towson women's tennis program.
> The Tigers hold a 2-8 record for the 2020-21 season.
> Last time out, Towson fell to South Carolina State, 6-1. The Tigers claimed the doubles point but lost all six singles matches to the Bulldogs.
> The team returns eight student-athletes from their 2019-20 roster, adding three freshmen to the mix.
