Taylor and Whitaker Named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas- After a pair of wins over Old Dominion this weekend, defender Courtney Taylor and midfielder Bridget Whitaker have been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. For Taylor, it is the third time she has been honored with a weekly award this season. For Whitaker, it is her first time being recognized by the conference since being named Preseason All-AAC.
Whitaker led the Owls with four points on Friday against the Monarchs, including her second hat-trick in three games. The senior also absolutely dominated the draw circle, setting a new season-high eight draw controls. On Sunday Whitaker added another goal and assist alongside another season-high three caused turnovers. She played a key role in securing the victory, winning the final draw control of the match to ice the game.
Taylor was stellar on the Temple backline this weekend. The senior was given the task of defending top attacker Lilly Siskind in both games, and she did her job well. Last week's AAC Attack Player of the Week was limited to only three goals in total over both games after scoring five on Sunday alone last week against East Carolina. She also caused two turnovers in each game and picked up four ground balls Sunday.
The Owls will be back in action with a trip to Cincinnati Thursday. The 3 p.m. matchup is the first of two games against the Bearcats, and both will be streamed on ESPN+.
