PHILADELPHIA- Temple lacrosse continues to build on it's success following the program's first NCAA At-Large Bid since 1998. The squad has added a transfer from Hartford in defender Suzanna Cantwell for the 2022 season.

"We are so excited to welcome Suzanna back to the Philadelphia area and to welcome her to the Temple Lacrosse family," said Temple head coach Bonnie Rosen. "Suz is an excellent student in the classroom, a quick and tenacious defender on the field, a team player and a valued teammate. She is a natural fit for our program."

Cantwell has spent the last three years with the Hawks. During her freshman season she was the only player on the team to play in all 17 games. Cantwell led the team in ground balls (30) and caused turnovers (14). She started five of six games the following year before the season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She did not play last season. Prior to Hartford Cantwell attended Bishop McDevitt High School where she set the career scoring record of 215 goals.

"I am so humbled and excited for the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic careers at Temple," Cantwell said. "I can't wait to be a part of such a well-established and successful program that is so close to home. I'm looking forward to growing and learning as a lacrosse player this season, go Owls!"

Temple is coming off a historic season, advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998 before falling to eventual national champion Boston College. The Owls recognized nine seniors at the end of the regular season and will welcome five freshmen to the squad for the 2022 season in addition to three transfers.
