PHILADELPHIA - Murray Littlepage and Kate Gier have joined the Temple University Athletics Marketing and Fan Engagement staff, announced senior associate director of athletics for external operations Scott Walcoff.

Littlepage, who most recently was the director of marketing at Southern Miss athletics, will serve in the role of assistant athletics director for marketing and fan engagement while Gier, who has been with Temple athletics since 2017 as a ticket sales representative, will move into the role of athletics marketing coordinator.

"We're thrilled that Murray and Kate have joined our team," said Walcoff.  "Murray brings a ton of experience with developing creative marketing initiatives and game day promotions.  Kate is well-known to many of our season ticket holders through her many years with us in the ticket office.  We look forward to utilizing her skills and creativity to increase fan engagement at our games."

At USM, Littlepage oversaw the marketing efforts for the athletics department and during his leadership the school had record-setting season ticket sales numbers for baseball, and softball, the highest women's basketball average attendance since the 2007-08 season and a 107% increase in women's basketball revenue. Also during his time, USM experienced a 38% increase in average attendance with men's basketball since the 2017-18 season and a 60% increase in season tickets sales for the 2019-20 season while football had the highest average attendance among Conference USA schools during the 2019-20 season and a 15% increase in average attendance from 2018-19 to 2019-20.

"I am honored and humbled to join the Temple athletics department," said Littlepage.  "I would like to thank Scott Walcoff, Fran Dunphy and Craig Angelos for providing me with this opportunity. I am extremely excited to work with the Temple student-athletes, coaches and staff and engaging with the Temple fan base."

Prior to USM, Littlepage served as an assistant director of marketing and promotions at Tulane from 2014-17. His duties included managing all aspects of the Green Wave Fan Advisory Committee and overseeing in-game promotions and music for home football, basketball and baseball games. Littlepage also assisted in the development and execution of Tulane women's basketball's #HandClapHoopla video, which was chosen as one of four finalists by ESPNW in a nationwide competition.

Littlepage, who was hired by Tulane as a marketing coordinator before his promotion in July 2015, had previously held social media associate and athletics administration intern positions at Virginia from June 2013 - Nov. 2014. His first post-graduate position was at UNC Charlotte as a ticket office assistant from Aug. 2012 - June 2013.

A 2011 graduate of Radford University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise, Sports and Health Education and a minor in marketing, Littlepage, who earned his Master of Education degree in sport leadership from Virginia Commonwealth in 2012, is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administration (NACMA).

Gier began her career at Temple in July of 2017. For nearly two years, Gier served as a Ticket Sales Account Executive for Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions. She then transitioned to Temple Athletics when the ticket sales department was taken in house. Gier and the ticket sales staff work to build and foster client relationships and drive revenue for the department through the sale of season ticket packages, experiences and single game tickets.

"I have loved working for Temple Athletics over the past four years in the ticket office, building relationships with our season ticket holders," said Gier. "I am excited to take on my new role within marketing and continue to promote Temple Athletics."

Gier came to Temple after spending three years working as a Dual Rate Supervisor for Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pa. Prior to that, she spent a year with The Aspire Group as a Retention Specialist for Rutgers University.

In the fall of 2012, Gier was a ticket sales associate for the Sacramento Kings. She also completed internships with the Philadelphia Eagles and Lehigh University.

Gier, who earned her undergraduate degree from DeSales University in 2012 in sport management, completed her master's degree in Sport Business from Temple's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in 2020.
