Jourdain, White Earn Weekly AAC/Big 5 Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman forward Nick Jourdain earned his first Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week honor while freshman guard Jahlil White picked up his second straight American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week citation as the weekly awards were announced by each league Monday.
Jourdain, who also earned a spot on the AAC Weekly Honor Roll, scored a career and game high 23 points (9-17 FG) while adding five rebounds, three blocks and two steals to lead Temple to its third straight win, and first-ever victory at Tulsa (69-64) on Jan. 12. He has averaged 11.7 ppg since joining the starting lineup six games ago. Overall, he leads the team in blocks (1.6 bpg/3rd AAC) and is second in rebounding (4.8 rpg) and fourth in scoring (6.6 ppg).
Similar to Jourdain, White, who posted his first career double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) at Tulsa, has stepped up his game since joining the starting lineup five games ago. As a starter he has averaged 10 ppg and 8.8 rpg where overall he averages 6.1 points and a team-leading 4.9 rebounds per game. He also ranks second in field goal percentage (36-69, .522) and third in steals (15) while averaging just 22.6 minutes per game.
Temple (10-6, 3-2 AAC) next hosts Wichita State on Wednesday, Jan. 19 (7 pm/ESPN+/1210 AM WPHT).
