HOUSTON – Temple women's soccer (1-11-4, 0-8-0 AAC) fell to Houston (6-7-3, 2-4-2 AAC) on Thursday evening, 3-0 in the Owls final match of the 2022 season. A two-goal first half performance shifted the momentum in the Cougars direction, followed by a 66^th minute finish to give Houston the 3-0 win.

How it Happened

Houston entered the match exerting immediate pressure, finding the back of the net by the 4^th minute. The Cougars drew a foul to earn a free kick just outside the box, which they were able to convert.
Just six minutes later, Houston struck again, sending a grounder into the bottom left corner of the cage.
The Owls looked to close in on the Houston lead, finding a corner kick in the 25^th minute. Phoebe Hollin connected with Roisin McGovern, but Houston keeper Haley Woodward came up with the save to keep the Owls scoreless in the first half.
Houston found their third of the night in the 66^th minute off a scramble in the box, closing out the evening with the 3-0 advantage.

"Although this season didn't yield the results we wanted, we put up a fight in every game and really showcased our integrity and toughness," Head Coach Nick Bochette said. "Our student-athletes do things the right way and that's what we preach a lot. Progress doesn't always show up overnight, but we are moving forward and putting in the work every day. At the end of the day, we aren't satisfied with our results and we are looking forward to putting in the work this offseason."
