Temple Owl NIL Exchange Platform Announced; Enhances Opportunities for its Student-Athletes
11.1.22 | General
PHILADELPHIA - For the past 16 months NCAA student-athletes across the country have been allowed to monetize their name, image, and likeness (NIL). During this time, Temple Athletics has been investing in the education of its 525+ student-athletes on how they can maximize their personal brands and take advantage of the changing landscape.Â
Now, through its existing partnership with INFLCR, Temple Athletics is taking the next step in announcing the Temple Owl Exchange, which will provide a platform for local and regional businesses to engage with Temple student-athletes for name, image and likeness opportunities. This serves as an extension of the collaboration between Temple and INFLCR that began in January with the Owls leveraging INFLCR's technology to educate and track its student-athletes NIL activities.Â
"We are very excited to see our partnership evolve with INFLCR with the creation of the Temple Owl Exchange" said Vice President and Director of Athletics, Arthur Johnson. "This resource will provide a valuable marketplace for companies to find our student-athletes and connect with them on potential opportunities to promote their respective brands."Â
Using the Temple Owl Exchange, members of the business community will now be able to partner directly with student-athletes on brand-focused activities, provided they are permissible under Pennsylvania law and follow the Temple University NIL institutional policy.   Companies interested in joining the Temple Owl Exchange can click here for frequently asked questions and additional information on gaining access to the system.
Additionally, on November 11th at 5:00 pm on the 7th Floor of Alter Hall, Temple Athletics will host its first NIL Business Education Workshop. The workshop, co-sponsored by Comcast Business, will educate local, regional and national businesses on the opportunity NIL provides and how student-athletes can positively impact their brands to drive awareness and/or revenue. Additionally, attendees will learn more about Temple's NIL marketplaces and learn from industry professionals on the benefits of working with Temple student-athletes.
Companies interested in participating in the event should contact Justin Miller, miller@temple.edu for additional information.
